Santa
15 & 16th December 2007
For the first time
the iron age roundhouse was used in spectacular fashion as Santa's grotto.
The building was decorated with fantastic lights and candles in addition
to a large christmas tree.
Over the course
of the weekend around 400 children visited santa and his elven helpers.
The Mad Hatter led the children on a walk through the wood in their
quest to find santa's grotto. On the way they met the Queen of Hearts,
the March Hare and Alice.
Halloween
Bat Hunt
25th October 2007
Things go bump in
the park
Review from the Echo (Monday 29th October)
PUMPKINS, witches and ghosts
have been spotted chasing bats in Hadleigh Country Park.
The walk involved following
a trail of bats hanging in the trees. They were near other objects connected
to Halloween which children, many in fancy dress, then jotted down on
a notepad. Once they had all 12 objects they were given a prize.
Gary King, park ranger, said:
"There were lots of happy children. We had quite a few witches,
pumpkins and ghosts turn up."
