This information has been prepared and produced by Mark Wallington, former Senior Ranger for Essex County Council at Hadleigh Country Park. It is intended as a brief guide to the history of Hadleigh, its castle and the country park. Details were gathered from several sources, including several of the books that have been written about the castle. These are available at local libraries.

Please note that Hadleigh Castle is not within Hadleigh Country Park's grounds and is managed by English Heritage.
